Job Description

Role
We’re looking for a Global Head of Platform (Infrastructure/Operations), who will contribute to build the infrastructure vision and strategy to help the company to scale up in an efficient way and guide the DevOps/Infrastructure teams across 3 of our offices to meet challenges with passion and creativity. The role is located in Paris.

You will lead the DevOps/Infrastructure activities and teams with providing the vision, guidance and support on specific processes, procedures, tools, training and techniques.

*Responsibilities *

  • Understand our platform, clients, challenges and needs regarding our growth to build an effective strategy for our platform and the relevant action plans, on the short and long term, in order to design the best infrastructure possible.
  • Lead a team of 15 - 20 members, with 3 team leaders in direct reporting, and motivates the team to have an optimised outcome. The team is distributed in 3 offices: Berlin, Delhi and Paris :
    • Define quarterly goals and track the progress; conduct 1:1 meetings; coach and inspire the team leaders and team members, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
    • Create and maintain an inspiring and motivating working environment with positive relationships and conducive culture within the team.
    • Represent the team in the broader engineering department by collecting requirements for new tasks, managing priorities of the team, removing blockers.
    • Appraise team members with timely feedback and guidance.
  • Design and implement infrastructure architectures optimized for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and cost and most importantly customer satisfaction:
    • Analyse and resolve complex problems associated with infrastructure operation and application running.
    • Determine and provide estimates for development/infrastructure tasks.
    • Provide technical assessment of the impact of any changes to product requirements solutions.
    • Lead the continued improvement of the infrastructure.
    • Keep updated about technology advancements and share the knowledge with team members and peers regularly, ensuring best practices.

Profile

  • At least 7+ years experience working as DevOps or SRE / 3+ years experience managing/leading a DevOps team.
  • Agile team management experience.
  • Experience in hiring and building teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to move cleanly from theoretical to implementation thinking.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design principles and standards.
  • Experience in programming, networking or system administration.
  • Ability to pick up new technology concepts on the fly and discuss with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge in CI/CD, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes and/or Rancher.
  • Good understanding of containerisation, infrastructure orchestration, microservices and information security.
  • Excellent team-building and team-management skills - open-mindedness to understand team members’ motivations, hopes and problems, ability to inspire them and develop their skills and responsibilities, while building trustworthy relationships with them.
  • Highly positive attitude and ability to build conducive working relationships with colleagues from all levels.
  • Excellent English and strong experience in a multicultural environment and managing remote teams - another language will be appreciated such as Hindi, German or French.
